NURSERY REVEAL: Surprise Baby

Remember the concept board I put together for my girlfriend's owl themed nursery?  Well, Baby B is due in less than two weeks and the nursery is complete!  I was so pumped to go over to their house and see the final product.  They did an amazing job and the mural her brother painted is BEYOND spectacular!

 

 

Congrats again on your sweet little one; I can't wait to find out if it's a little boy or girl!!!!!

NURSERY: It's a girl...and a girl!!!

The previously mentioned twins whose announcement we have anxiously been awaiting has arrived!  My friend found out last week that she is having two sweet little girls!  I had predicted she was expecting two girls and had already started planning her nursery in my head.  It did not take me long to execute this mood board for her!


Neither the mom nor I are into girly-girl pastels and frilly decor.  This mod-traditional nursery with splashes of hot pink and lime green is the perfect combo for the soon-to-be-here little fashionistas.  I can not WAIT to meet these two sweet angels.  Congrats again!!!!!

U-Fab Take Two: Charlottesville, VA

On a recent trip in search of fabric, my mom and I packed up the kiddos and headed to Charlottesville, home of the larger U-Fab!  I found it appropriate to document the occasion since it was the babies' first trip (of many, I am sure) to a fabric store.  The hour long trip did not disappoint.  Two entire floors full of amazing options and a super friendly staff to help out are waiting for you right outside of Richmond!

This is the fabric I almost chose for our nursery.  I am in LOVE with this gorgeous chair!

Anyone else as obsessed as I am with fabric?  Do you ever start designing a room with it or use it for inspiration?  

NURSERY: Sweet baby twins

Nope, I am not blogging about my own nursery again.  One of my very good friends is expecting a boy AND a girl!  Needless to say, I am more than thrilled to help out a little in the decorating department.  She and her husband are both very crafty and handy, but I have a feeling he will be doing most of the work since she has two little buns in the oven!

I am in love with the yellow, blue and green color combo for a boy and a girl.  We have very similar taste, so it was a no-brainer when I saw this fabric while out and about!  

I am counting down the days until I get to hold these two tiny blessings in my arms!  Congrats again to the proud parents-to-be!

Spoiler alert:  I also have ANOTHER good friend having twins.  They find out the sexes in a week, so get ready for more nurseries!

Mod-Traditional Nursery - Olivia & Grayson's Crib

I absolutely love traditional, classic designs, but I also adore bright modern fabrics and the simplicity they bring.  You can brighten up just about any space by simply adding an eye-catching fabric to it.  No fuss and cluttering of accessories, just color.  I love it all - wall color, fabrics, rugs, pillows...you name it, I'll take it in a bright color!  It's funny because the majority of my house is done in warm, rich cozy colors that make you want to curl up on the couch with a good book.  I decided I wanted a nursery that would pop with color, but stay traditional in style.  Welcome to my babies' crib - literally.

I have always wanted a blue and green nursery - no matter if it was a boy or a girl (lucky me, I got one of each!).  After finding this mod-print dog fabric, I knew it was the start of my inspiration.  Bright baby blue serves as the wall color, while the furniture pieces are rich espresso and cream tones.  

These are up close shots of the fabrics I used for the window toppers and crib skirts.  Red and brown serve as accent colors in the room through the fabric in the window treatments, pillows, and gliders.  

My girlfriend Susan and I painted each of our dogs, Scout and Sidney, on the wall in the same style as the fabric.

I take the babies' monthly pictures in this chair.  This is their one month (actually six weeks) picture in their "Born in 2010" onesies.  Grayson was not a fan of posing.

While in NYC preggo, I picked up some artwork from my favorite local artist, Ilia Pasymansky.  He does the most beautifully detailed pen and ink etchings.  

The babies' godparents made the huge letters as wall hangings and we covered them  with paint and wrapping paper to coordinate with the color scheme.

We have our baby bags (well, my baby bag and Jeremy's Diaper Dude) hanging from the "O" and "G" silver initial hooks from Anthropologie.

This is hands down my favorite room in the house.  It could just be because it houses our two favorite people.  Do you have a favorite room in your home?
